~Last Loop Rope Art~

Own a piece of the West!

Chele Needens- Buffalo, WY

I'm Chele Needens and I live outside beautiful Buffalo, Wyoming on my husband, Bill, and I's ranch. Sharing our company is our dog Feather, various horses, cattle, barncats and wildlife. Ranching is my lifestyle, I’m proud of it and my Basque and Native American nationality, all of which influence my work greatly. I also love to barrel race and pole bend and while at the rodeos I make sure to see if any of the ropers are willing to part with their ropes. I also get used ropes from friends, family and neighbors who ranch around us, each rope has its own story to share.

I started making rope art when my daily chores included hurtling over the many ropes in my barn. At first I made baskets, and then I started to experiment with clocks, mirrors, picture frames and even wall sconces. Now I make all sorts of different rope crafts and come up with new ideas all the time!

When making my baskets I insure they are all different and I add special touches like deer or elk antler buttons and silver conchos to my work to give them that unique Western flair.

All of my art is one of a kind, free-hand creations burned together for lasting stability and beauty. I also powerwash all the ropes so they are "clean", but they still hold that rustic, used look and appeal. I use my daughter's (Cheyenne Greub-www.cheyennegreub.smugmug.com) photography in my rope picture frames, she takes mostly Ranch-Ag photos. I hope you enjoy her work as much as we do, its natural (no editing) simple & beautiful, just like our sweet Wyoming home!

~Now it seems I can’t find enough ropes to keep up with all the products I am making! If you know of anyone with a few too many ropes on their hands, just let me know & we'll work a deal/trade!

Hope you enjoy my rope artwork as much as I enjoy making it!
